Day 30 - Mahabharata
Mahabharata in Hindu culture is the ultimate philosophical and devotional material which is relevant even today. Every bit of it is as powerful and empowering and the stories that hold are truly magnificent. Every character in this epic story in itself is something very engaging to be hooked onto. The stories have been told from age old times but the interest never diminishes for anyone. Always curious and eager to know a little more abut this great history.
I still remember the tv show of the same which used to come on Doordarshan channel with the music in the background and it went like this, “Mahaaabhaaaarat”. I am sure people who have watched it can relate to it. It is more to do with the association of Mahabharata with all who grew up with it, at least some of us. Time flew by and we forgot about the tv show and moved from theatre to mobile screens to online streaming applications. Things moved fast in our generation and the tv show was forgotten. While the youngsters have the luxury of OTT to watch the series whenever they want, the same cannot be said about these shows for elders.
It was a good initiative by the Doordarshan channel to have a re-telecast of Ramayana and Mahabharata during this lockdown. Everyone were excited to watch it again no matter the kind of quality it was in. The new age kids were excited and curious to know about all the hype it was making. Mom started to watch the series everyday without fail. It had been close to 20 days s and soon she started talking about it and made dad also to watch. So the everyday routine in my home is to wake up early and be ready for the show at 9 am. A few days back dad found the series on YouTube and started to cast it to TV and now they are binge watching the show and are already on episode 67.
After I finished my dinner I was watching the show with my family and soon found myself asking questions about the characters and about their superpowers. The history of each character and their relationships with the other characters in the story made me know more about Mahabharata. It is my desire to read the entire Mahabharata story in detail and to unlock the meaning of each stories in it. Hopefully when the lockdown is over I get a full story about Mahabharata. Time for me to go and watch Mahabharata on television. Oh, wait, my dad will be casting it. Hope you read the stories of Mahabharata and enhance your knowledge too.

Signing off for today
Lovely idea. Even I was telling shishir that we should watch the old Mahabharat series. May be we should also start . There is also a play called Mahabharat with few of the old cast, you should watch it. It tells the story from dhuryodhan's perspective
