Day 20 - It’s hectic bro

It’s been 2 years since I quit my job and started a new career in the film and entertainment industry. What I miss the most about working in a 9-5 no no that can’t be right 11-8 job was sharing the lunches, team outings, celebrations at office, those cricket tournaments and many many things. I am not taking any reference to my earlier employers but working in a company in general. 

Does job mean just working in a MNC company, get a decent hike, a good bonus or maybe a promotion ? Isn’t job satisfaction more important thane these ? Or do you consider only career progress as the one and only option to get ahead in life ? Aren’t your personal goals important ? Well what if the company shuts down or asks you to quit, that’s it. You will forever loose the job that you most loved. Oh wait you did not love your job, you loved the perks that came with the job. Through time I have come to know that most of the people working in a company quit their jobs because of their bosses and not because of the company. I don’t know if that was true, but it sure did to the 75% of the friends I know of who changed the job. If you ask me, I always made peace with my bosses, no no I was not diplomatic in my methods but I was an Individual contributor more of a Hercules and less of just a guy in the office. I got things rolling, initiated things, followed up and made sure it got done. 

To the point now, how much do we love our job ? Most of my friends keep telling me I can’t do this, I can’t do that, traveling takes time, work takes most of my day, I don’t have my own me time, I don’t have this, I can’t do that. To all of them who feel this way, why don’t you stop blaming yourself and start taking actions. Simple one’s like scheduling your day between office hours and personal hours. At the end of the day you have to know that the job is a never ending process. This is something to note, no matter whatever you complete today, there will always be another task tomorrow. That doesn’t mean you have to sleep on a task, all I am saying is to make sure you enjoy your personal life too. I find that people who are working in companies are always in a state of confusion. Here is the reason why, when the whole country is in lockdown everyone had to Work From Home (WFH). Finally you got your personal time, you can spend more time with your family. Now when it’s here you say you are working more than ever. Not just one friend but most of my friends have been complaining me about this and some of them even told me that it was better to go to work than sit at home. A friend called me a few days back as we were conversing I asked him about how his job was going amidst the lockdown and he said, “It’s hectic bro"
