Day 29 - Patience is the Key

What is patience ? It is to believe in yourself and keeping calm at things or people. It is undeterred attention towards a thing. I had challenges and obstacles in life to be where I am today. I had short-temper, anger issues and restlessness. Some I acquired over a period of time due to over-stressful and excessive work due to job demand. I used to spend more work time than personal time. Job adds more pressure to a person and keeps him busy and occupied. As you achieve each task and succeed you are a hero in their eyes and soon more work will follow. Every task you complete is another task gained. It’s a never ending loop of initiation - completion. I do not have any regrets nor complaints against my employers in the past. It's up-to you to choose how much you have to work and how much you have to take time off. Be a wise chooser and make sure your actions are best for your own interest.

Patience is a different thing altogether, it is a meditation in practice. It needs your undivided attention and regular practice. I found out late in my life or rather it was growing over a period of time, I was able to learn the art of patience. The early rejection of things and not ready to accept things as it is or not understanding the situation better adds to the loss of patience. There are some ways in which you can practice patience over a period of time. Here are some practices that I have been doing to master patience:
  • I read, read and read books.
  • I listen to music as soon as I wake up or when I am stressful, play a song.
  • I listen to music in traffic or keep a book to read.
  • Watch the sky for about 5 minutes.
  • Listen more, talk less.
  • Try to understand the situation better.
  • I visualize long term results through short term actions.
  • Reflect on myself.
Success depends on your patience and patience is the key. It is not difficult to improve your patience, it takes time for everything. The best things is to start today, as I truly believe in taking a step today will lead to a 100 steps in the future. Imagine how much path you would have walked and had experiences you have learnt over a period of time. To truly believe in something and for something to happen in the future is the true achievement of patience. Patience develops over experience, as time passes by you will know it either by someone telling about it to you. Trust also plays a very important role in the development of patience. Trusting in someone or something good to happen to you will make a big difference. As the saying goes “Do not judge a book by it’s cover” holds very true. You cannot say anything until you have completely read the book and understood it better. The same applies to knowing people and then talking about them or not. In most cases after knowing a person you would not be talking about the person. Then you would have decided to keep silent and talk when necessary since you will be knowing this person’s good and bad qualities. You will then decide what to accept and what to decline or better way to put it is what to listen and what to ignore. If you have read the entire post from my blog for today, then you have PATIENCE my friend.

Signing off for today

At one of my shows, we had a cat running around just a few hours before the start of the show and it took me 20 minutes or so to wait for this cat to settled down before I could click this picture
