Day 13 - Let’s Stream
Pandemic can cause a dynamic effect on our minds if we do not keep ourselves busy with things. I have got requests from people from friends asking me how I keep myself busy. Well its difficult for me too but somehow I have tried to make the most by engaging in a routine. The recent one that I found which became a part of my daily routine was watching movie on streaming applications.
The exponential growth of mobile market combined with mobile data and broadband services have significantly changed the world. We now have access to things anywhere at anytime. There have been many competitors in the market fighting to get their share of audience. From Netflix, Prime, Hotstar and others, there is no end to the streaming apps. There are many unheard streaming apps like the one I came across recently called Rakuten which streams mostly Korean movies. I also love watching some good content short films on Vimeo.
Streaming applications have changed the watching experience altogether. Over a period of just 5 years the audience have migrated from seeing movies in theatre to watching it directly in their screens. This has also been the cause for the reduced number of audience in theaters and filmmakers suffering from reaching out their content.I believe watching movies on streaming apps can make the whole family to come together and enjoy a little drama during the lockdown. I have gone a step ahead and told my parents that we will have show days every 2 days once and we will all come and watch a movie together. Apart from the daily soap that have re-started the show from beginning, most of the viewers have gone to watching more online content than ever.
Prime Video has reduced it’s strain on mobile networks during this time temporarily by streaming only SD content. Netflix has only made this restriction in Europe while Asia still streams UltraHD content.
Here is list of movies / series that I watched on streaming apps. The list is in no specific order.
