Bleeding Green

End of the World - 21-Dec-2012 is finally near, either you believe it or not, you still aren't doing enough to support our world, until you have realized the seriousness of the situation. You need a strong a will power and determination to do what you have never done. Among these are the ones in which you go eco-friendly and do a little bit for the mother Earth.

On a day like World Environment's Day what special did you do ?? did you travel by cycle / carpooled / planted / switch off your electronics at home, what else ?? It doesn't count frankly speaking, because we only do it on a particular ocassion, and we forget about it the next day. We need to change this trend.

All we got to do is keep the basics right, switching off power whenever possible, limiting the usage of the same, walking - which most of us Indians don't do as we are lazy or we want things to happen in a jiffy by travelling in our vehicles, Usage of public transports - seems like can do, but again re-iterating nope, we want to travel in our own luxury. Unless a change is brought in your own self-belief, all these things will be invalid to speak of.

Well frankly speaking i am not much of a energy - saver myself, but i would like to change my viewpoint and seed a good  thought in my mind, that would grow up to be a tree of change in my life. I did my small part for today by getting a plant home to nurture and grow it. I felt adopting a kid into my life. In fact i am so motivated by this that i am starting to think of bring some more and have a small garden of my own. My mother does have her own small garden in our green house.

So let's all take a step forward in executing our will in being good to our mother Earth, rather than having just the thoughts in our mind or even just talking about it.

"Sustainability is more than a trend, it's a way of life"

  2. Great topic! I try to be as green as I can. I do go around turning off lights and unplugging things behind my family (and co-workers). I can't stand wasted energy. I also turn up / turn down the thermostat. Our family recycles and we take our own bags when grocery shopping. Of course could do more ... but the awareness is there!
